We had a positive view on BYD Company (SHE: 002594 / HKG: 1211 / SGX: HYDD / OTCMKTS: BYDDY / BYDDF) for a while, from late December 2025 to end of April 2026. The Q1 2026 disappointing earnings changed the picture.
Current market consensus focuses heavily on the recent domestic sales slump and profit drop: even if BYD’s international exports reached record high in April 2026, international growth is not sufficient.
Some inflows due to recent HK indices rebalances may lift BYD temporarily, plus our model is flagging the stock as ‘oversold’ – this could be a short-term rally. Fade it.

🇰🇷 KOSDAQ 150 (KOSDQ150): Where to Fade Friday’s Spike (Smartkarma) $
The KOSDAQ 150 Index (KOSDQ150) rallied sharply on Friday. Sanghyun Park discussed in detail what is his opinion on this market move, read his insight for context.
If the nominal fund size is fundamentally insufficient to drive a 5% index move and the headline acted as a sentiment trigger in a liquidity vacuum, the move is fadeable.
This insight tries to examine statistically the current price move comparing it to previous past moves that our algorithmic model flagged as “similar”, to determine where it could end.

The figure covers the country’s 18 casinos, including foreigner-only venues and Kangwon Land (KRX: 035250), the country’s only casino open to locals.

S&P Global Ratings expects Hong Kong-listed casino operator NagaCorp (HKG: 3918 / FRA: N9J / OTCMKTS: NGCRF)’s earnings to grow “modestly” over the next two years, at an annual rate of 5 percent to 6 percent across 2026 and 2027.

🇵🇭 Philippines 1Q GGR down 16pct from a year ago, to US$1.4bln (GGRAsia)
The Philippine gaming sector – including non-casino operations – produced gross gaming revenue (GGR) of PHP87.60 billion (US$1.42 billion) in the first three months of 2026, 15.9-percent lower than in the prior-year period.
The decline was largely driven by a “weaker performance” of the electronic gaming sector, which saw revenue down 22.4 percent from a year ago, to PHP39.90 billion in the first quarter, said on Saturday the country’s gaming regulator, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor).
The segment encompasses e-bingo, e-games, bingo grantees, and onsite and off-site poker, as per Pagcor’s classification. It accounted for circa 45.6 percent of aggregate GGR in the January to March period.
🇵🇭 Entertainment City IRs see 1Q GGR down 11pct from a year earlier: Pagcor (GGRAsia)
Large-scale integrated resorts (IRs) in Entertainment City, in Metro Manila, recorded gross gaming revenue (GGR) of just above PHP37.47 billion (US$574.6 million) in the three months to March 31, according to data from the country’s casino regulator, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor).
The GGR tally for the private-sector casinos in Entertainment City was down 11.1 percent from a year ago, showed the data.
The Philippine gaming sector – including non-casino operations – produced GGR of PHP87.60 billion in the first three months of 2026, 15.9-percent lower than in the prior-year period.
Casino operator Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PSE: BLOOM / OTCMKTS: BLBRF) reported GGR of PHP14.67 billion in the opening quarter of 2026, down 12.6 percent from the prior-year period. The firm attributed the decline to “lower GGR” from the group’s Solaire Resort Entertainment City.
City of Dreams Manila, run by a unit of Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd (NASDAQ: MLCO), saw improved earnings, before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) in the first quarter, on what it described as a “better performance in the rolling chip operations”, despite a decrease in revenue from the mass-market segment.
🇵🇭 DFNN 2025 revenue more than doubles but loss widens (GGRAsia)
Philippine information technology firm DFNN Inc (PSE: DFNN) reported a net loss of PHP411.0 million (US$6.7 million) for full-year 2025, a 36.3-percent increase from a year earlier. Revenue last year rose 112.5 percent year-on-year, to PHP63.6 million, the firm said in a filing to the Philippine Stock Exchange.
The revenue gain was supported by the value of contracts with third parties throughout 2025, which saw a 518.7 percent year-on-year increase, to PHP42.5 million. Sales of goods for the period stood at PHP35.9 million, up from PHP5.4 million in 2024.
Via subsidiaries, DFNN has licences for electronic gaming machines, a sports betting exchange, and digit and pari-mutuel games, with the nation’s gaming regulator, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor).

🇸🇬 Missed Amazon in 2008? Is Sea Ltd. a Second Chance? 🏆 (Slow Compounding)
A Southeast Asian compounder hiding in plain sight
Platform companies often look messy. They invest heavily, profitability is delayed, and the market struggles to decide whether losses are value-destroying expenses or value-creating reinvestments. Only later does it become clear whether the company was simply burning cash or building infrastructure, trust, customer behavior, and network effects that would matter for decades.
Sea Limited (NYSE: SE) is not Amazon. And Southeast Asia is not the United States.
But in some ways, Sea reminds me of Amazon around 2008/2009: already large, already relevant, but with much of its long-term earnings power still hidden behind investment, complexity, and market skepticism.

🇸🇬 RWS’ casino overhaul seeks to address competitive gap with MBS: chairman (GGRAsia)
Casino operator Genting Singapore (SGX: G13 / FRA: 36T / OTCMKTS: GIGNF / GIGNY) says a major transformation of the gaming experience at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will form a central part of its SGD6.80-billion (US$5.32-billion currently) redevelopment plan, known as RWS 2.0.
Speaking at the company’s annual general meeting in mid-April, Genting Singapore’s executive chairman and acting chief executive, Lim Kok Thay, said a key focus of the next phase of investment would be the complex’s gaming venue.
Mr Lim said the firm’s management was devoting attention to “design, marketing and operations” in order to close competitive gaps in the gaming segment to its Singapore market rival, the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) complex, run by a unit of Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS).
🇸🇬 GEN Singapore’s credit strength increasingly pressured by market-share loss: Moody’s (GGRAsia)
Moody’s Investors Service Inc says a “strong balance sheet” continues to support the “credit strength” of Genting Singapore (SGX: G13 / FRA: 36T / OTCMKTS: GIGNF / GIGNY), the operator of the Resorts World Sentosa casino complex in Singapore. The institution however cautioned that market-share decline in Singapore and a “weaker” credit quality of the parent, Malaysian conglomerate Genting Berhad (KLSE: GENTING / OTCMKTS: GEBHY), “pose risks” for the casino firm.
Genting Singapore posted first-quarter net profit of nearly SGD65.2 million (US$51.2 million), down 55.0 percent from a year earlier. That was on revenue that fell 3.0 percent year-on-year, to SGD607.6 million.

🇸🇬 3 Stocks Hitting 52-Week Highs. Are They Still A Buy? (The Smart Investor)
Stocks making new highs can feel expensive, but strong businesses often keep climbing for a reason. Here’s how to evaluate three stocks trading near their 52-week highs — and whether they still deserve a place in your portfolio.
Why Stocks Reach 52-Week Highs
Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp (OCBC) (SGX: O39 / FRA: OCBA / FRA: OCBB / OTCMKTS: OVCHY), or OCBC – The Earnings Momentum Winner
OCBC is one that is trading close to fresh highs, and for good reason.
The bank’s latest earnings report (ending 31 March 2026) saw net profit rising 5% year on year (YoY) to nearly S$2 billion, on the back of double-digit growth in its non-interest income over the same period.
Why are investors excited?
Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (SGX: S63 / FRA: SJX / OTCMKTS: SGGKF) or ST Engineering, or STE – The Dividend Re-Rating Story
Another company that is trading near 52-week highs is the prime defence contractor for Singapore: ST Engineering.
One of the reasons supporting its recent ferocious rally is the substantial dividend hike announced by the group: the total dividend paid of S$0.23 per share for 2025 represents a sharp 35.2% spike compared to the previous year.
Keppel Ltd (SGX: BN4 / FRA: KEP / KEP1 /OTCMKTS: KPELY / KPELF), or Keppel – The Structural Growth Leader
Keppel has been recording fresh highs, thanks to its strategic positioning to tap into specific long-term trends, including energy transition and digitalisation.

🇸🇬 Stop Watching the Tickers: 5 Stocks to “Buy and Forget” for a Decade (The Smart Investor)
Constantly checking stock prices rarely builds wealth. The real gains often come from holding great businesses over time. These five stocks are the kind investors can consider owning for the next decade.
DBS Group — The Global Platform Leader
DBS Group (SGX: D05 / FRA: DEVL / DEV / OTCMKTS: DBSDY / DBSDF) became Southeast Asia’s largest bank in 1998.
Today, it has operations spanning 19 markets with a keen focus on Greater China, Southeast Asia and South Asia, a network that is hard to match.

ST Engineering — The Dividend Growth Blue Chip
Global technology and defence powerhouse, Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (SGX: S63 / FRA: SJX / OTCMKTS: SGGKF) or ST Engineering or STE, is backed by government contracts and long-term aviation maintenance.

Venture Corp — The Structural Growth Leader
Venture Corporation (SGX: V03 / FRA: VEM / OTCMKTS: VEMLF) serves as a strategic partner and manufacturer for global giants in key sectors such as life sciences and advanced networking.
With the worldwide push for better medical technology and rising complexity of semiconductor testing, Venture Corp is well-positioned to benefit from the increasing sector demand.
Sheng Siong — The Defensive Compounder
As a classic all-weather stock, Sheng Siong Group (SGX: OV8 / OTCMKTS: SHSGF) remains resilient regardless of the economy as daily groceries and household essentials never go out of style.
In fact, when times get tough, consumers cut down on dining out and eat at home instead.

Stocks with high dividend yields may look appealing at first glance, but not all are created equal.

🇸🇬 Salary Shortfall: 5 Pricing-Power Stocks for a High-Inflation World (The Smart Investor)
Inflation eats into your purchasing power — unless the businesses you own can keep raising prices. These five stocks stand out for their pricing power, helping investors stay ahead of rising costs.
Today, we will spotlight five stocks with pricing power and how they can help you soften the impact of inflation on your wallet.
Why Pricing Power Is the Ultimate Inflation Hedge
DFI Retail Group (SGX: D01 / FRA: DFA1 / OTCMKTS: DFIHY), or DFI — The Consumer Brand Leader
DFI, being the operator of recognisable brands such as IKEA, Guardian, and 7-Eleven across multiple Asian markets, best exemplifies what it means to have pricing power.
Sembcorp Industries (SGX: U96 / FRA: SBOA / OTCMKTS: SCRPF), or Sembcorp — The Essential Services Provider
Being an essential services provider that customers rely on for daily living also grants pricing power to a certain extent.
Take Sembcorp, for example; this local energy provider has long-term contracts, spanning decades.
Parkway Life Real Estate Investment Trust (SGX: C2PU) — The REIT with Built-In Escalations
ParkwayLife REIT owns healthcare properties, mainly hospitals and nursing homes, primarily in Singapore and Japan.
Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (SGX: S63 / FRA: SJX / OTCMKTS: SGGKF) or ST Engineering, or STE — The Market Leader with High Switching Costs
STE’s strong market leadership in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) market (ranked number two globally by Spherical Insights) for commercial aerospace makes it difficult for customers to switch providers.
Seatrium Ltd (SGX: SE2 / FRA: S8N / OTCMKTS: SMBMF), or Seatrium — The Commodity or Asset-Linked Player
Finally, Seatrium, being in the business of constructing offshore vessels, may see strong earnings growth during periods of high oil prices (high oil prices generally lead to an escalation in inflation).

🇸🇬 Cashing in! 3 Dividend Stocks Paying Investors This Week (The Smart Investor)
Three SGX-listed companies are paying dividends next week. All three generated positive cash flow and held net cash, yet only one chose to raise its dividend payout.
The direction of the dividend often reveals what management sees in the quarters ahead.
Frencken Group Ltd (SGX: E28) — Pays 14 May 2026
Frencken Group, a global integrated technology solutions provider serving the semiconductor, analytical life sciences, medical, automotive and industrial automation segments, is the strongest case in this trio.
Info-Tech Systems (SGX: ITS) — Pays 15 May 2026
Info-Tech Systems, a Singapore-based SaaS provider serving SMEs across Singapore, Malaysia and other regional markets, is the growth case.
Delfi Limited (SGX: P34 / OTCMKTS: PEFDF) — Pays 15 May 2026
Delfi, the Singapore-listed chocolate confectionery group behind Indonesian brands SilverQueen, Ceres and Delfi, is the cautionary case.

🇸🇬 3 Blue-Chip Dividends Landing on Consecutive Days: How Sustainable Is Each Payout? (The Smart Investor)
Three blue-chip dividends arrive in the same trading week — but the cash flow, order books and forward guidance behind each cheque tell three very different stories.
Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (SGX: S63 / FRA: SJX / OTCMKTS: SGGKF) or ST Engineering, or STE
STE kicks off the week on 13 May.
The defence and engineering group is lifting its FY2025 total dividend to S$0.23 per share, up from S$0.17 a year ago – including a final dividend of S$0.06 and a special dividend of S$0.05.
The numbers underneath form the cleanest case of the three.
CapitaLand Investment Limited (SGX: 9CI), or CLI
CLI pays on 14 May, sandwiched between the two.
The dividend itself stems from the group’s FY2025 results, but the most recent disclosure – a 1Q2026 business update – does not include dividend figures, which CLI typically reports alongside half-year results.
What the update does reveal is a business mid-pivot.
Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX: S68 / FRA: SOU / SOUU / OTCMKTS: SPXCF / SPXCY), or SGX
The bourse operator pays last, on 15 May, distributing its 1HFY2026 interim quarterly dividend of S$0.110 per share.
Combined with the earlier interim, total dividends for the half come to S$0.2175, up from S$0.180 a year ago.
What sets SGX apart is forward commitment.

HRNetGroup (SGX: CHZ)

The group’s Flexible Staffing segment accounts for nearly 90% of revenue, while Professional Recruitment punches above its weight, contributing 45.2% of gross profit from just 9.6% of revenue.
Credit Bureau Asia Ltd (SGX: TCU)
Credit Bureau Asia (CBA) provides credit and risk information to banks, financial institutions, and government bodies across Southeast Asia.
Its Financial Institution (FI) Data business runs credit bureaus in Singapore, Cambodia, and Myanmar, while its Non-FI Data segment offers commercial risk management solutions through a partnership with Dun & Bradstreet.
FY2025 was a softer year operationally.
VICOM is Singapore’s leading provider of vehicle testing and inspection services and a subsidiary of ComfortDelGro Corporation Ltd (SGX: C52).
Beyond vehicle inspections, the group offers mechanical, civil engineering, and non-destructive testing through its Setsco subsidiary.

🇸🇬 3 SGX Dividends Hit Bank Accounts This Week — But Only One Is Funded by Cash Flow (The Smart Investor)
SBS Transit, ComfortDelGro, and Sheng Siong are paying dividends this week, but only one of the three is paying out of cash the business is actually generating. Here’s what dividend investors should know.
Free cash flow is the engine that powers dividends — and that is where the divergence shows up.
Sheng Siong Group (SGX: OV8 / OTCMKTS: SHSGF): Organic Growth Doing the Heavy Lifting
Of the three, Sheng Siong has the cleanest dividend story.
The supermarket operator’s first-quarter 2026 (1Q2026) results showed revenue rising 12.4% year on year (YoY) to S$452.8 million, with comparable same-store sales in Singapore growing 3.5%.
SBS Transit (SGX: S61): Read the Dividend Composition Carefully
ComfortDelGro Corporation (SGX: C52 / FRA: VZ1 / VZ10 / OTCMKTS: CDGLF / CDGLY): Dividend Rises While Cash Flow Turns Negative
ComfortDelGro shareholders receive a final dividend of S$0.0459 on 13 May 2026, capping an FY2025 total of S$0.0850 — up 9.4% YoY.
The headline performance supports the increase.

Why Dividend Growth Matters More Than Yield
Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (SGX: S63 / FRA: SJX / OTCMKTS: SGGKF) or ST Engineering — The Earnings Momentum Story
ST Engineering looks set to raise its dividend again, with profits climbing fast.
In its 2025 financial year results (FY2025), the conglomerate reported strong base operating performance (BOP).

Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX: S68 / FRA: SOU / SOUU / OTCMKTS: SPXCF / SPXCY), or SGX — The Balance Sheet Strength Case
Venture Corporation (SGX: V03 / FRA: VEM / OTCMKTS: VEMLF) — The Recovery Dividend Story

🇸🇬 Beyond STI: 3 Under-the-Radar Stocks Quietly Buying Back Their Own Shares (The Smart Investor)
Three under-the-radar SGX stocks are buying back shares while paying dividends – but the sustainability of each payout tells a different story.
Here are three non-STI stocks that appeared on the buyback list – and what their financials tell us about dividend sustainability.
Credit Bureau Asia Ltd (SGX: TCU)
Credit Bureau Asia (CBA), which provides credit and risk information to banks and financial institutions across Southeast Asia, delivered a quiet vote of confidence in its dividend.
Micro-Mechanics (Holdings) Ltd (SGX: 5DD / OTCMKTS: MCRNF)
Micro-Mechanics, a precision engineering specialist serving the semiconductor industry, posted a strong third quarter for its fiscal year ending June 2026 (3QFY2026).

🇸🇬 3 Blue Chips With The Most Aggressive Buybacks in 2026: Here’s What That Means for Their Dividends (The Smart Investor)
Three STI heavyweights led Singapore’s 4M2026 buyback tally with a combined S$636 million. For dividend investors, the more important question is what’s funding those returns – and whether the same engine can keep the dividends flowing.
Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SGX: Z74 / FRA: SIT / SIT4 / OTCMKTS: SGAPY / SNGNF) or Singtel: A Buyback Explicitly Separate from the Dividend Engine
Singtel topped the local tally with 61.2 million shares repurchased for around S$300 million.
The buyback sits within Singtel’s S$2 billion value realisation programme – and crucially, it is not funded by current earnings.
The programme is underpinned by excess capital from asset recycling proceeds.
Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp (OCBC) (SGX: O39 / FRA: OCBA / FRA: OCBB / OTCMKTS: OVCHY): A Record Top Line under a Policy-Anchored Payout
OCBC came in second with 9.6 million shares repurchased for around S$209.9 million.
Behind that buyback sits a S$2.5 billion capital return plan that management confirmed remains on track for FY2026 completion.
Keppel Ltd (SGX: BN4 / FRA: KEP / KEP1 /OTCMKTS: KPELY / KPELF): A Transition Story with a Delayed Dividend Signal
Keppel rounded out the trio with 10.5 million shares bought back for around S$126.5 million.
The dividend question here comes with a caveat: 1Q2026 was a voluntary update, and Keppel did not disclose specific revenue, profit, total FUM or free cash flow figures.
Investors have to read the engine through other signals.

🇸🇬 Data Centre Dominance: Why This REIT Is Still the 2026 “Must-Own” Asset (The Smart Investor)
AI, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure demand continue to reshape the REIT landscape. This data centre REIT remains firmly in focus for 2026 — but can the growth story continue?
Why Data Centre REITs Became Market Leaders
Why This REIT Still Stands Out in 2026
Let’s take a look at NTT DC REIT (SGX: NTDU), a data centre REIT that is well-positioned to benefit from the structural growth in AI.
Globally, the increasing adoption of AI means significantly more computing power and storage are required, which translates to a surge in the demand for data centres.
Being sponsored by a leading data centre operator in Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp (TYO: 9432 / FRA: NLV / NTT / OTCMKTS: NTTYY / NPPXF), provides NTT DC REIT with access to a pipeline of premium data centres.

🇸🇬 The “Data Centre” Gold Mine: Keppel DC REIT vs. Digital Core REIT (The Smart Investor)
Data centres are powering AI and cloud growth, but between Keppel DC REIT (SGX: AJBU / OTCMKTS: KPDCF) and Digital Core REIT (SGX: DCRU / OTCMKTS: DGTCF), which offers the better mix of income, scale, and long-term upside?
In this article, we look at which REIT offers the better buy today.
Why Data Centres Are the New “Digital Gold”
Business Overview: Keppel DC REIT vs Digital Core REIT
Let’s now examine the differences between the two REITs.
KDCREIT is primarily known for its Singapore-focused data centre portfolio, with a steady presence in Japan, paired with a selective exposure in Europe.
Its assets are generally of high-quality, anchored by solid, blue-chip tenants.
On the other hand, DCRU’s operations mainly span across the US, with data centres in Canada, Europe, and Japan.
This American-focused REIT currently trades at US$0.50.

🇸🇬 3 High-Quality REITs Backed by Strong Sponsors (The Smart Investor)
In REIT investing, the quality of the sponsor can matter just as much as the properties themselves. These three Singapore REITs stand out for having strong backing, deep pipelines, and proven management support.
What Makes a REIT High Quality
CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust (SGX: C38U / OTCMKTS: CPAMF) – The Blue-Chip Commercial REIT
Backed by CapitaLand Investment Limited (SGX: 9CI), or CLI, a leading global real asset manager, CICT is in an enviable position, with ready access to a portfolio of high-quality assets and redevelopment expertise.
CICT’s portfolio consists of high-quality assets, including Plaza Singapura (slated for asset enhancement), Raffles City, CapitaSpring, and the upcoming acquisition, Paragon.
Mapletree Logistics Trust (SGX: M44U / OTCMKTS: MAPGF), or MLT – The Logistics REIT
The sponsor of MLT is none other than Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd.
Other than providing MLT with a healthy pipeline of attractive logistics assets across different geographies, Mapletree Investments also helps manage the REIT’s assets.
Keppel DC REIT (SGX: AJBU / OTCMKTS: KPDCF), or KDCREIT — The Defensive Specialist
KDCREIT’s sponsor, Keppel Ltd (SGX: BN4 / FRA: KEP / KEP1 /OTCMKTS: KPELY / KPELF), certainly knows a thing or two about data centres.
As a global asset manager and operator with strong expertise in infrastructure, real estate and connectivity, Keppel has built deep data centre capabilities – managing assets across Singapore, China, Indonesia, Japan and the Netherlands through its listed REIT and private funds.

🇸🇬 3 Blue-Chip REITs Outpacing the STI by 8% or More in April 2026 (The Smart Investor)
April delivered a clear divergence between Singapore’s benchmark and three of its blue-chip REITs. Here’s what the numbers say about why.
A look at their April releases reveals three traits in common: visible operating growth, genuine pricing power, and balance-sheet discipline.
Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust (SGX: BUOU / OTCMKTS: FRLOF), or FLCT
FLCT owns 113 logistics, industrial, business park and office properties across Australia, Germany, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Logistics and industrial assets account for 75.1% of the S$7.0 billion portfolio.
Keppel DC REIT (SGX: AJBU / OTCMKTS: KPDCF)
Keppel DC REIT owns 25 data centres across 10 countries with assets under management (AUM) of around S$6.3 billion as at 31 March 2026.
The numbers from its 1Q2026 update were, in a word, robust.
Frasers Centrepoint Trust (SGX: J69U / OTCMKTS: FRZCF), or FCT
Singapore’s largest suburban retail mall owner with nine retail malls and an office property totalling roughly 3.0 million square feet of net lettable area, FCT boasts AUM of S$8.4 billion.

🇸🇬 3 Under-the-Radar Stocks Rewarding Investors This Week (The Smart Investor)
Three SGX-listed stocks are paying dividends on the same day this week — but the stories behind each payout couldn’t be more different.
Wee Hur Holdings Ltd (SGX: E3B / FRA: 3YM): The Dividend That’s Actually Growing
At first glance, Wee Hur’s dividend looks like it fell off a cliff.
But here’s the catch: last year’s figure was inflated by a hefty S$0.07 special dividend funded by proceeds from the group’s Fund I Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) disposal.
QAF Ltd (SGX: Q01): Steady Payout, But Look Under the Hood
QAF, the company behind household bread brand Gardenia, held its full-year dividend steady at S$0.05 per share – S$0.01 interim and S$0.04 final.
For income investors, that consistency is reassuring.
United Overseas Insurance (SGX: U13 / FRA: IZB): Balance Sheet Strength, Income Under Pressure
United Overseas Insurance (UOI), a member of the UOB Group, is paying a final dividend of S$0.195 per share this week – bringing total FY2025 dividends to S$0.265 per share, a 15% increase from S$0.23 in FY2024.

Valuetronics is an electronics manufacturing services provider operating two segments: Industrial and Commercial Electronics (ICE) and Consumer Electronics (CE).
For the six months ended 30 September 2025 (1HFY2026), the group’s performance was a clear story of margin discipline and business model resilience.

🇮🇳 Solar Industries: Defense Crowns a Record Year, Guidance Upgrade for FY27 (Smartkarma) $
Solar Industries India Ltd (NSE: SOLARINDS / BOM: 532725) delivered its highest-ever revenue and profit in FY26, with defense revenue nearly doubling to INR 2,634 crore, management guiding to INR 4,500 crore in defense revenue for FY27.
Defense and international exports now collectively command 60-70% of the revenue basket, making Solar less of a coal-cyclical play and more of a defense-tech compounder.
With INR 18,000 crore of a total INR 21,300 crore order book sitting in defense, the earnings quality and visibility have materially improved.
🇮🇳 Shadowfax: India’s Quick Commerce Infrastructure Play (Smartkarma) $
Shadowfax Technologies Ltd (NSE: SHADOWFAX / BOM: 544685) reported FY26 revenue of INR4,201.7 crore (nearly 2x YoY) with a net profit of INR118.8 crore, while guiding for 28-30% growth in FY27 and 6.7x scale-up in dark stores.
India’s quick commerce boom is creating logistics infrastructure gap, and Shadowfax, already serving Blinkit and Amazon Now, is positioning as the neutral backbone, avoiding platform risk while capturing growth runway.
With profitability proven and capex intensity moderating, the dark store pivot and pin code expansion strategy reveal company building durable logistics moat.
🇮🇳 India’s Steel Supercycle Proxy: Bharat Coking Coal, The Monopoly (Smartkarma) $
India declared coking coal a critical mineral in January 2026 as Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (NSE: BHARATCOAL / BOM: 544678) completed its IPO, while imports climbed to 59.98 million tonnes in 2025-26.
With 95% of steel sector coking coal demand met through imports, any supply shock/ price-spike directly compresses margins for Indian Players, which are collectively targeting 70 MTPA of additional capacity.
BCCL’s washery expansion from 13.65 MTPA to 27 MTPA, and a government-mandated target of 40 MT of domestic washed coking coal by FY30 create a rare supply-side inflection point.
🇮🇳 Deepak Fertilisers: A Play on India’s Mining and Infrastructure Cycle (Smartkarma) $
Deepak Fertilisers & Petro (NSE: DEEPAKFERT / BOM: 500645), an integrated chemicals and fertiliser player, saw Q3 FY26 EBITDA fall 27% YoY to INR 353 crore due to monsoon-led weakness across key segments.
Gopalpur TAN is 91% complete and Dahej-II nitric acid is 79% complete, both INR 4,185 crore projects are targeted for Q1 FY27 commissioning.
FY27 could be an inflection year, supported by higher TAN capacity, Asia-scale nitric acid production, and Equinor’s 15-year LNG contract improving ammonia cost economics.
🇮🇳 Amber Enterprises:Revenue Milestone Achieved, But Margins Face the Real Test (Smartkarma) $
Amber Enterprises (NSE: AMBER / BOM: 540902), a diversified electronics and consumer durables manufacturer, crossed INR 12,000 crore revenue, with all three divisions growing despite consumer durables margin falling to 7.1%.
Rising copper-clad laminate and gold prices, wage hikes in UP/Haryana, and PCB pass-through delays may reduce FY27 consolidated EBITDA margin by 50-100 bps.
Electronics remains the key support, with 40% growth and 9.5-10% margins. FY27 depends on how quickly PCB price resets are completed.
🇮🇳 The Beat Ideas- Sirca Paints: A Premium Coating Company Widening Its Addressable Market (Smartkarma) $
Sirca Paints (NSE: SIRCA / BOM: 543686), a premium wood coatings company, closed FY26 with INR 492.5 crore revenue and INR 98.9 crore EBITDA, while moving 95% of earlier imports to India.
Domestic manufacturing can lift margins, reduce inventory cycles, and strengthen Sirca’s premium niche moat, Q1 FY27 acrylic rollout may add a fresh earnings trigger.
Management’s 25-30% FY27 growth guidance looks achievable, supported by scale-up, geographic expansion, and Wembley-Welcome’s progress. The INR 1,000 crore FY29 target needs strong execution.
🇮🇳 Swiggy Ltd: The Boardroom Drama, Shareholders Rejected the Resolution! (Smartkarma) $
Swiggy Ltd (NSE: SWIGGY / BOM: 544285)’s special resolution to amend its Articles of Association received only 72.36% votes in favour, failing to clear the mandatory 75% threshold under the Companies Act, 2013.
The failed vote blocks Swiggy’s near-term path to becoming an Indian Owned and Controlled Company (IOCC) and leaves two proposed management board appointments in limbo.
With domestic mutual funds likely tipping the balance, Swiggy’s governance overhaul faces a credibility test at a time when its stock is down over 33% from the QIP price.
🇮🇳 Sheela Foam: India’s Sleep Giant Is Waking Up (Smartkarma) $
Sheela Foam Ltd (NSE: SFL / BOM: 540203) posted its highest-ever annual EBITDA Rs. 414 crore in FY26, Q4 PAT jumping 7x YoY to Rs. 92 crore and Board recommending 20% dividend for first time since listing
Kurlon is no longer drag, actively contributing. Cash ROCE improved to 18%, debt is being retired at pace and 2 high-growth channels, E-commerce and U2O, scaling faster than core business.
With 85% of the Indian mattress market still unorganized and raw material volatility the primary near-term risk, the margin-versus-growth trade-off management navigates in FY27 will define the rerating case.
🇮🇳 TruAlt Bioenergy(India’s Largest Ethanol Producer): FY27 Should Be the Payoff (Smartkarma) $
FY26 Revenue fell 8.64% to Rs. 1,772.94 crore (standalone) as OMC allocation cuts and a court-ordered 15.62 crore-litre carry-forward left Rs. 500 crore of inventory unsold on the balance sheet.
Revenue shortfall is a timing issue, not structural one. Once Karnataka High Court order is executed and private OMCs are honoured, TruAlt Bioenergy Ltd (NSE: TRUALT / BOM: 544545)’s run rate jumps to 5 crore litre
FY27 brings functioning dual-feed ethanol platform and 55 crore-litre volume target. The stock’s re-rating thesis depends on how fast courts and OMCs move in Q1 FY27.

🌎 Mercado Libre Q1 2026: The Risks of Dominance (Expanse Stocks)
Startup Growth at Mega-Cap Scale + Fintech is What Worries Me the Most (I Explain Why) + Evaluating What the Market Is Pricing In
For a company operating at a $35B+ annualized revenue run rate, these are numbers you simply don’t see anywhere else. Period.
After 29 consecutive quarters, this remains the only company in the world consistently delivering 30%+ YoY organic growth quarter after quarter. Remarkable.
🌎 MercadoLibre: Margin Pressure or Moat Expansion? (Compounding Your Wealth)
Deep Dive into MercadoLibre (NASDAQ: MELI): Valuation, Segment Growth, Key Metrics, GMV, TPV, Profitability, Expenses, Product Launches, Financial Stability, SBC/Revenue, and Shareholder Dilution.
MercadoLibre remains one of Latin America’s strongest compounders, with e-commerce and fintech reinforcing each other across commerce, payments, credit, logistics, and advertising. Growth is accelerating where it matters most: Mexico revenue +62% YoY, Brazil revenue +55% YoY, GMV +42% YoY, and TPV +50% YoY. At the same time, valuation has compressed to historically low levels, with Forward EV/Sales near its lows and Forward P/E below its median.
The market is focused on margin pressure. But much of it comes from free shipping expansion, logistics investment, and credit card growth — moves that may reduce margins today while strengthening MELI’s moat tomorrow. The bigger question is whether the $14.6B credit portfolio, up 88% YoY, is creating hidden risk or building the next major profit engine. Let’s dig in.

Revenue, ARPAC, Mexico, and AI all advanced. The stock still wants one thing: proof that Nubank’s decision engine works when credit gets noisy.
A year ago, the Nu Holdings (NYSE: NU) thesis was elegant. Trust would compound into engagement; engagement would compound into data; data would improve underwriting; better underwriting would expand monetization; and higher monetization, layered on a low-cost digital architecture, would create one of the rare financial platforms that could grow like a technology company while earning returns like a great bank.
A year later, the business has largely followed that script. The stock has not.
