Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC): Rs. 1.15 per share

IRFC is the financing arm of Indian Railways. It borrows from the market and lends the money to the railways to buy rolling stock and fund projects. A 100-share holder would get Rs. 115.

What to Keep in Mind

These are all interim dividends, which the board can declare during the financial year. A final dividend is different because shareholders have to approve it at the annual general meeting. A dividend is not free money. On the ex-date, the stock usually opens lower by roughly the amount of the payout, so you are receiving cash that used to sit inside the company. Your total wealth stays about the same. The income is also taxable in your hands at your slab rate, and companies may deduct TDS once your dividends cross the annual limit. Finally, a large payout shouldn’t be the reason to buy a stock. Business quality, earnings visibility and valuation matter far more than a single dividend.
