Trump says Iran will ‘get a beating’ over surprise missile launch toward U.S. troops in Jordan
President Trump is vowing a tough response after U.S. troops in Jordan had to intercept a series of ballistic missiles from Iran in a surprise overnight attack.
“We’re going to beat the f——— s—- out of them,” Mr. Trump told Fox News’ Trey Yingst by phone. “We’ll be hitting them hard. They’re going to get a beating.”
Mr. Trump said he personally reviewed video of U.S. personnel calling out coordinates to intercept the missiles.
He also said U.S.-Saudi strikes on Iran-backed Shiite militias in Iraq were coordinated with the Iraqi government.
Mr. Trump called the militias a “cancer on the world” during his interview with the network.
The U.S. and Israel launched strikes against Iran on Feb. 28 to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.

Iran retaliated by clamping down on oil traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, sparking cycles of violence and peace negotiations testing Mr. Trump’s patience and forcing him to choose between diplomatic talks or harsher options.
Mr. Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Tuesday at the White House to discuss the way forward and ways to bring allies in the Middle East closer together.
The meeting occurred hours before the U.S. linked arms with the Saudis to retaliate against Iran and its proxies in the region.
