Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s Guests Thought THIS Part Of The Wedding ‘Was A Joke’
From everything we’ve heard, it sounds like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding was absolutely perfect. But there was apparently one part of the ceremony that guests thought was a joke!
Two weeks after the fairytale nuptials at Madison Square Garden, Jonathan Thomas, who attended the event, is opening up about what he saw! During an appearance on the Compound and Friends podcast on Thursday, the American Century Investments CEO revealed he and many other guests thought one part of the wedding in particular “was a joke” — Adam Sandler officiating! He recalled:
“Adam Sandler officiated it. He came down, everybody laughed and thought it was a joke at first.”
OMG!
We mean, he’s usually the designated funny man in the room, so we don’t necessarily blame people for having that initial reaction. But we’re just glad it sounds like the crowd quickly switched gears and took the Happy Gilmore star as seriously as ever:
“He actually spoke for 20 or 30 minutes, vacillated between funny, very sincere, sang a few things.”

It sounds like he did a pitch perfect job! Jonathan went on to recall a specific joke Adam made:
“There are two things that I remember distinctly, one is in your typical vows the officiator says, ‘For rich or for poor,’ and he said, ‘You’re not going to have to worry about that.’”
According to Forbes, Taylor’s net worth is sitting at an astronomical $2.1 BILLION. So yeah, Adam was spot on.
Jonathan recalled a sweet piece of advice the Grown Ups actor left the newlyweds with:
“‘Kiss each other every day, in the morning, at night after dinner, just kiss often.’”
Awww! Take it from the man who’s been married to wife Jackie Sandler for 23 years!
Jonathan went on to share what he remembers about Taylor and Travis’ emotional exchange of vows:
“Travis went first with his vows. He probably spoke for 30 minutes and I don’t want to violate his privacy but I was crying, which I was trying to hold back. He made himself unbelievably vulnerable. And then I look around and there’s all these 300-pound men from the football business crying as well, so I felt really comfortable to let go on it.”
SO adorable!
As for Tay Tay, the businessman added:
“And then Taylor went and she also wrote her own vows. She probably spoke for 30 minutes and it was poetic. It was really well done.”
