NBCC (India) Limited successfully concluded the e-auction of approximately 8.80 lakh sq. ft. of residential apartments at Avenue Towers, Africa Avenue Marg, Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi, for a total sale value of around ₹5,191 crore. The company will receive a marketing fee of 1% of the total sale value, equivalent to approximately ₹51.91 crore.

The Indian aviation industry is expected to post net losses of Rs 36,000-38,000 crore in the current fiscal, compared to estimated net losses of Rs 28,000-30,000 crore in the previous year, ratings agency ICRA said on Thursday.

The losses were primarily driven by moderation in passenger traffic growth, rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices and forex losses arising from the sharp depreciation of the Indian rupee, it said.

The onset of the war in West Asia in late February 2026 is expected to dampen air passenger traffic growth in FY27, ICRA said. Additionally, increased costs due to depreciation of the Indian Rupee against the US dollar, elevated ATF prices and a rise in lease rentals amid continued aircraft deliveries are projected to cause a net loss of Rs 36,000-38,000 crore in this fiscal.

These cost escalations may not be adequately passed on to passengers through fare hikes, it said.

CG Power and Industrial Solutions announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Axiro Semiconductor, has made a strategic investment in ThinSiC Inc. as the lead investor in its latest funding round. The partnership aims to accelerate the development and commercialisation of low-cost silicon carbide (SiC) power devices used in rail traction, industrial drives and power grid infrastructure. The collaboration will expand Axiro’s semiconductor portfolio beyond RF, mmWave and connectivity chips into power electronics, while leveraging CG Power’s industrial and power transmission presence to support commercialisation in India and international markets.

Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company retained its FY27 AUM growth guidance of 20–23% and pre-tax ROA target of 3.5%, despite rising funding costs and monsoon concerns. The company plans to raise ₹5,000 crore through equity or convertible debentures over the next six to nine months. Funding costs are expected to rise by 15–20 basis points during FY27, partly offset by lower credit costs. Meanwhile, the company plans to expand its gold loan network to 450 branches by year-end, from over 300 currently.

Nifty 50 stocks showed mixed performance, with Adani Ports and Adani Enterprises emerging among the top gainers, supported by gains of 5.32% and 4.68%, respectively. Power Grid and Kotak Mahindra Bank also recorded strong advances, while Trent, Bajaj Auto and Asian Paints featured among the top losers.

GK Energy reported modest growth in Q2 FY27, with net profit increasing 5% year-on-year, while EBITDA and margins declined slightly.

Policybazaar reported that high-net-worth individuals’ term insurance bookings have doubled since April 2023, while the average sum assured increased 30%. Customers below 35 account for nearly 50% of HNI term insurance buyers, reflecting rising demand among younger affluent individuals. Policies with coverage of ₹3 crore or more have increased 25%, while buyers are increasingly opting for critical illness and disability riders. The company also highlighted growing demand for ₹5 crore-plus coverage following the zero-GST regime for insurance premiums.

UTI AMC’s Ajay Tyagi said largecap stocks offer their most attractive risk-reward profile in over a decade, supported by improving earnings and reasonable valuations. Private sector banks appear particularly attractive, with targeted credit growth of 14–15% and potential earnings expansion. While smallcaps remain expensive, telecom stocks could benefit from pricing power and rising ARPU, while the cables and wires sector is supported by demand from power infrastructure, data centres and exports.

Allied Blenders & Distillers expects FY27 sales volumes to exceed 40 million cases, up from 36 million cases in FY26, driven by premiumisation, new launches and capacity expansion. The company aims to recover EBITDA margins in the second half after a ₹53 crore cost impact reduced margins by around 250 basis points in H1. A premium vodka launch within six months and increased captive ENA production are expected to improve profitability, while premium products are targeted to contribute over 50% of volumes and 60% of value.

Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath said higher securities transaction tax (STT) and tighter F&O regulations may have shifted traders towards options buying and unregulated crypto derivatives. According to Zerodha’s estimates, around 50% of futures traders and 40% of options sellers are profitable, compared with just 10% of options buyers. Kamath also highlighted the risks of weekly expiries, high leverage and margin trading, calling for better-calibrated regulations to address unintended market consequences.

Aeroflex Industries shares surged 15% after the company raised its FY27 EBITDA growth guidance to 70%, compared with 35% projected earlier. The sharp upward revision signals improved earnings growth expectations and boosted investor sentiment toward the stock.

Samsung Electronics reported record operating profit of 107.4 trillion won ($80.5 billion) for Q3, while revenue reached an all-time high of 195.3 trillion won ($146 billion). Strong demand for AI memory chips, including high-bandwidth memory and server DRAM, drove the performance. Samsung expects AI-related chip demand to accelerate through 2027, potentially outpacing supply as companies expand AI infrastructure. However, concerns remain over heavy semiconductor investments and the risk of an AI-related downturn.

RR Kabel lowered its FY27 wires and cables volume growth guidance to 14–16% from 16–18% earlier due to demand moderation, while maintaining its EBIT margin outlook at 9.5%. The wires and cables business reported 53% growth in Q2 FY27, although volume growth remained in the high single digits. The company expects its FMEG business to return to profitability from the current quarter, with 20% revenue growth guidance retained. RR Kabel is also pursuing long-term expansion plans, including a ₹200 crore land acquisition in Rajasthan, with detailed plans expected by year-end.

Indian benchmark indices traded higher, with the Nifty 50 rising 0.51% to 22,814.60and the Sensex gaining 0.59% to 73,677.56. Nifty IT advanced 0.76%, while FMCG gained 1.46% and Media rose 1.01%. However, Nifty Auto declined 0.79%. Investors remained cautious following the US Federal Reserve’s decision to hold interest rates and its policy outlook.

Birlasoft shares jumped to their biggest single-day gain in over five years after constant-currency revenue grew 2.1% sequentially, marking its strongest performance in eight quarters. However, EBITDA margin declined 90 basis points sequentially to 15.2%, partly due to wage hikes. With deal TCV falling 31% QoQ to $116 million, management expects a stronger second half of FY27 and aims to sustain margins around 15% while improving growth.

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has called for sector-specific export strategies, market diversification and greater use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to strengthen India’s global trade position. Merchandise exports rose 18.51% to $259.89 billion during April–September FY27, while combined goods and services exports reached an estimated $476.2 billion. The government aims to achieve $1 trillion in exports during FY27, with a focus on market access, global trade fairs and increased participation by MSMEs.

eClerx Services shares declined 10.14% to ₹1,677, down ₹189.20, following its Q2 FY27 results. Despite strong revenue growth, lower consolidated net profit and slower operating profit growth may have weighed on investor sentiment.
