Jamaal Bowman is a pathetic excuse for a congressman

Rep. Jamaal Bowman just can’t quit it with the phony fire alarms.

Trailing in the Democratic primary as he seeks re-election in his Bronx-Westchester district, he’s been wailing about the supposed nefariousness of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and slamming down the race card.

But it’s doing him as much good as that pathetic fire-alarm stunt.

So now he’s pleading desperately for a rescue from the Democratic Socialists of America, a group he left back when he was trying to move in the direction of his voters — even as he remained in The Squad along with Israel-haters Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.

He never really meant it, as witness his consuming off-the-wall YouTube conspiracy theories.

And his public shift didn’t survive Hamas’ horrific Oct. 7 assault on innocent Israelis, a “victory” that brought antisemites leaping into the public to cheer all across America.

Since then, Bowman’s shown his true colors by:

  • For long weeks, denying the ample evidence (the terrorists proudly filmed it themselves!) that Hamas engaged in mass rape along with the other Oct. 7 atrocities.

Bowman is flailing while his opponent, Westchester County Executive George Latimer, is surging.

Hence his resort to the the race card: When Latimer criticized him for screaming at Republican members on the steps of the Capitol, he accused Latimer of portraying him as the “angry black man.”

And, yes, AIPAC is backing Latimer — because there’s no reason this district, with its large Jewish population, should be sending a Jew-hater to Congress.

It’s up to the socialists as to whether they want to invest in trying to save Bowman; our honest advice would be to not waste resources on a guy so foolish he pulled that alarm in full view of security cameras — then tried to lie about it.

Left, right or center, New York can do better than Jamaal Bowman.
