Brian Steel Talks Defending Young Thug

About 18 minutes into the interview, Brian Steel shared insight into his relationship with Young Thug. He explained that the pair knew each other for years before he represented Thug in his famous R.I.C.O. trial. When asked why he shared that Thug’s name stands for “Truly Humble Under God,” Steel explained that the rapper is religious and that he seemingly wanted to highlight his background for the court and the public.

From there, Steel shared his happiness with how social media highlights trials to the world and seemingly gives the public an inside look at the justice process. From there, Steel spoke about Young Thug referring him to defend Lil Durk in his murder — and now, the current R.I.C.O. trial.

“Jeffrey always asked me,” Steel explained, breaking down the timeline from when Thug’s trial ended to when he joined Durk’s team. “He said that Durk is his brother. And ‘they’d like you to do this case and I want you to do this case.’”
