The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) electrified New York City on Wednesday night, with Taylor Swift dominating the nominations list. The show was hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, and Katy Perry received the prestigious Video Vanguard Award, treating the audience to a career-spanning medley. Eminem opened the show with a powerful performance alongside Jelly Roll. Other notable acts included Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Lenny Kravitz, and Sabrina Carpenter.

Swift’s whimsical black-and-white music video for “Fortnight,” the lead single from her album “The Tortured Poets Department,” earned her ten nominations. Her featured artist on the track, Post Malone, also garnered significant recognition with nine nods. The summer hit “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter, along with Eminem and Ariana Grande, each had six nominations, while SZA and Megan Thee Stallion received five apiece.
