I’ve seen less of Jason Kelce since NFL retirement
Kylie Kelce said it’s been an “absolute free for all” since her husband, Jason Kelce, retired from the NFL after 13 seasons and joined ESPN this past spring.
In a Q&A with fans during the premiere episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast on Thursday, Kylie explained that Jason is busier in retirement — while juggling roles as an NFL analyst, a co-host of the “New Heights” podcast and a soon-to-be late-night host on ESPN — than he was while playing in the NFL.
“I see him less now in retirement than I did when he was playing football,” said Kylie, who is pregnant with the couple’s fourth daughter. “We had a set schedule then. Now, it’s an absolute free for all. He’s working so hard and really grinding right now. So I just make sure that I’m covered [with their daughters: Wyatt, 5, Elliotte 3, and Bennett, 1] and if that means he’s at the house and someone else is there just to cover or make up the difference, then that’s what we have going on.”
Kylie laughed when someone asked if Jason was going to watch their three daughters while she records her podcast each week.
“When I have to do something — coaching, something for the Eagles Autism Foundation, something for the podcast, a doctor’s appointment even — I will schedule childcare,” she said. “My husband can tell me 72 times that he’s going to be in the house when I have to leave it, I will still schedule childcare. And it’s not a knock on my husband. My husband is busier than he’s ever been.”
Jason — a seven-time Pro Bowler, six-time All-Pro and a 2018 Super Bowl champ — agreed to a multi-year deal with ESPN in May, two months after retiring from the NFL.
That deal includes appearances across a number of shows including, ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” and the “Monday Night Football” halftime show every week during the regular season — and on ESPN’s playoff games and Super Bowl coverage for Super Bowl LXI in New Orleans in 2025.
Last month, Jason revealed that he and ESPN are bringing a late-night talk show to Philadelphia beginning Jan. 4.
The Eagles great will host “They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce,” a live show that will run for five weeks on Friday nights during the latter half of this NFL season, including the playoffs.
The hour-long program, beginning at 1 a.m. for the first four episodes and 1:30 a.m. for the final one, will be taped at Union Transfer in Philadelphia with a live audience.
Jason’s media career rapidly ascended in 2024.
The popular “New Heights” podcast the former center co-hosts with younger brother Travis Kelce gained a whole new audience when the Chiefs All-Pro tight end started dating Taylor Swift last summer.
Since then, the Kelce family, including matriarch Donna Kelce, have seemingly been everywhere.
Donna recently made an appearance in the Hallmark Christmas movie, “A Chiefs Love Story,” which premiered on Hallmark on Nov. 30.
Travis has since gotten into acting, appearing in the Ryan Murphy-created horror series, “Grotesquerie.” He also hosts Amazon’s “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity.”
Jason and Travis Kelce became the largest investors in the independent light beer, Garage Beer, in June.
