Paper Rex tops Fnatic for Valorant Masters Toronto crown

Paper Rex defeated Fnatic 3-1 on Sunday in the grand final of the Valorant Masters Toronto 2025 in Canada.

Paper Rex’s Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto of Indonesia was selected most valuable player for the event.

The playoffs ran from June 13-22 and featured an eight-team, double-elimination bracket. Four teams advanced from the eight competing in the Swiss stage on June 7-11. Four winners from the International League also entered the playoffs.

All matches were best-of-three except for the lower bracket final and the grand final, which were best-of-five.

The event had a $1 million prize pool, with champion Paper Rex collecting $350,000 and seven VCT 2025 championship points, and Fnatic earning $200,000 and five points.

Paper Rex opened with a 13-11 win on Sunset, then Fnatic drew even with a 17-15 outcome on Icebox. Paper Rex closed out with a 13-10 victory on Pearl and a 14-12 win on Lotus.

Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee of Malaysia made 77 kills and led Paper Rex with a plus-13 kills-deaths-assists ratio, while Susanto had a team-high 81 kills and a plus-6 K-D-A. Fnatic’s Emir “Alfajer” Ali Beder of Turkey had a match-high 99 kills and a plus-20 K-D-A.

Fnatic advanced to the grand final on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Wolves Esports in the lower bracket final. Paper Rex’s path to the grand final included a 2-0 sweep of Wolves in the upper bracket final.
