Volvo Cars India has launched its first electric vehicle, the C40 Recharge, in India. The launch price of this luxury car is Rs 61,25,000.
The car is equipped with a 78kWh battery pack and is said to have a range of 530 kilometers. The car has a power of 408 horsepower, a torque of 660 Nm, a top speed of 180 km/h, and uses a lithium-ion battery with a battery weight of 500 kg.
The C40 will be available for pre-order on Tuesday evening, with deliveries starting in September.
The car will be sold directly by Volvo online and customers can place orders from the Volvo Cars India website. A refundable deposit of INR 1,00,000 is required upon booking.
“Electric vehicles are a developing market and 26% of the vehicles we sell are electric. The C40 Recharge has a five-star Euro NCAP rating for safety. Like all our products, the C40 Recharge is also sold at our Assembled at our factory, this demonstrates our commitment to the Indian market,” said Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director, Volvo Cars India.
The C40 Recharge will be backed by an eight-year battery warranty, a one-year comprehensive car warranty, a one-year Volvo service package, three years of roadside assistance and an 11 kW wallbox charger.
