Vodafone Idea launches ‘Choice’ postpaid plans to attract and retain subscribers

Vodafone Idea has launched a new postpaid plan, ‘Select’, in a bid to stem subscriber churn. A “choice” plan for postpaid subscribers will allow them to bundle benefits that best meet their needs.

“‘Choice’ will enable users to choose their preferred benefits in four main areas: entertainment, food, travel and mobile security.”

According to experts, Vodafone Idea has the second largest number of postpaid subscribers after Airtel. While awaiting further funding from promoters and potential other investors, Vi is having difficulty financing capital expenditures. Experts say this may have been an incentive to introduce the offer to encourage subscriber retention.

Vodafone Idea lost 1.8 million active users in May, the highest in six months, according to the latest report from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.

Select features will be available on Vi Individual and Family postpaid plans at no additional charge. For the Vi Individual plan, the number of choices a subscriber can make will increase with the cost.

Commenting on the proposal, Vi Chief Marketing Officer Avneesh Khosla said: “Vi Max is a major leap forward in our ongoing commitment to innovation and consumer-centricity. Possibility to post paid plans.”
