SEOUL, South Korea-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Nitek, Inc. (“Nitek”), a pioneer in the U.S. UV LED field, announced that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Photon Wave Co., Ltd. (“Photon Wave”), a Dekker-based company. Korean UV LED manufacturer in East Saskatchewan.
Nitek claimed in the complaint that the LED products of German LED company ams OSRAM used infringing LEDs from Photon Wave.
Nitek also argued that Photon Wave did not stop selling infringing products even after receiving consecutive patent infringement warning notices. Therefore, Nitek not only sought a permanent injunction to prohibit the sale of infringing products, but also sought 3 times damages for intentional patent infringement.
Nitek has previously successfully won a patent lawsuit against another international LED manufacturer and will continue to enforce the law against other infringers. Sensor Electronic Technology, Inc. (“SETi”), a subsidiary of Nitek, also obtained a permanent injunction against patent infringement by Bolb, Inc., a UV LED company co-founded by former SETi employees. Crucially, the effects of this permanent injunction also extend to Bolb, Inc.’s officers and employees.
