Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das is one of three central bankers to receive an ‘A+’ rating in the 2023 Global Finance Central Bank Governors Transcript.
The ratings are based on a scale of A to F and measure success in inflation control, economic growth targeting, currency stability and interest rate management. An “A” grade represents an excellent performance and an “F” grade represents a total failure.
“With pent-up demand and disrupted supply chains fueling inflation, everyone is turning to central bankers for help,” said Joseph Giarraputo, founder and editorial director of Global Finance.
“Global Finance’s annual Central Bank Governor Report Card aims to recognize bank presidents who have outperformed their peers through ingenuity, creativity and tenacious strategies,” he said.
Along with Dass, the other two central bankers who received an “A+” rating are Thomas J. Jordan (Switzerland) and Nguyen Thi Hong (Vietnam).
