Olivia Newton-John’s daughter Chloe Latanzi became emotional while discussing her late mother on live television.
Latanzi, 37, appeared on Australian morning show “Sunrise” on Tuesday to talk about her upcoming charity walk, the Olivia Health Walk, on Sunday, October 8, in honor of her mother.
“I’m sorry, this is still raw for me. People I didn’t even know cheered me up, and I was able to connect with people who had cancer,” she said during the broadcast.
Newton-John died in August 2022 at the age of 73 after a battle with cancer. She was first diagnosed with the disease in 1992 at the age of 43.
Since then, she has become an advocate for breast cancer awareness and research, including putting a significant amount of her own money into the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, which is dedicated to “sponsoring plant-based medicine research for cancer worldwide.”


Olivia’s Health Walk will be the tenth annual event taking place at Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne, Australia, where participants walk five kilometers to raise funds for cancer research.
“It is an honor to continue walking for health. There is no greater purpose in life than giving to others, and when I was going through mental illness, I focused on connecting with others going through similar pain… even when she was in She was still the hardest part of the battle, an emotional Latanzi said in an interview on Tuesday.
When Newton-John died, the actor and singer’s former Grease co-star John Travolta, 69, posted a tribute on Instagram, writing: “My dearest Olivia, you make all of our lives better. Your impact is incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. From the first moment I met you and forever! Your Danny, your John!”

Newton-John married actor Matt Lattanzi in 1984 and they welcomed daughter Chloe two years later. The two broke up in 1995.
Lattanzi is an actress known for Sharknado 5 and is the only child of Newton John.
At the time of her death, Newton-John was married to producer John Easterling, whom she married in 2008.


Her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, faced her own health issues, battling anorexia and drug addiction.
Latanzi told the Mail on Sunday in 2013: “My eating disorder started when I was 15 and lasted until my early 20s. I suffered from anxiety and needed to find a way to control certain things. .Food was the one thing I had control over…I would party at a different Hollywood club every night and meet other young celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton , and party all night long.”
After her mother’s death, Latanzi told her Instagram followers that her own mental health had suffered.
“I wasn’t doing well. I had severe memory loss and trouble getting out of bed. I kept neglecting myself,” she said in an Instagram video in August. “One of my mom’s biggest messages was to take care of yourself. So, I was going to be gone for about three weeks because I was having health issues, both physically and mentally.”



She also recently revealed that she believed her mother appeared to her in “supernatural” ways after her death.
“Two weeks later, she accidentally took a picture of my dog through my phone and he had a little blue ball floating on his head, the same color as this,” Latanzi told ” People magazine.
“Mom and I talked about it years ago,” she said. “We would watch these supernatural shows and I would say, ‘You have to show up for me.'” She said, ‘I would show up in the form of one of those orbs. ‘”
