Upper West Side, Manhattan (WABC) — An investigation is underway after an NYPD officer was struck by a two-wheeler on the Upper West Side on Thursday.
At around 2:15 p.m., police responded to West 83rd Street and Riverside Drive and found a male NYPD officer lying in the roadway at the intersection.
The officer suffered an ankle injury and was transported to Morningside Heights, Mount Sinai. He is expected to survive.
A delivery man was at the scene after the incident, but it was unclear whether he was the one who assaulted him.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
