New York City issued a travel warning ahead of the storm, which could bring heavy rain and flash flooding

NEW YORK (WABC)—— New York City issued a travel warning starting Friday as the three states braced for storms that could bring heavy rainfall and widespread flash flooding.

The travel warning will be in effect from Friday to Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service predicts heavy rainfall of 2 to 4 inches, with more than 5 inches possible in some areas.

New Yorkers are advised to limit travel and stay indoors during severe weather.
