Vice President Press Secretary Mr. Faruk Kirunda for Kira City Council Member Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda please take time before making baseless accusations against the ruling government and the President himself Study how the government works.

Mr Kirunda pointed out that Hon. Ssemujju, as a professional journalist and Whip of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), should have been familiar with the operations of the presidency rather than focusing on President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni personally.

“However, if he finds it difficult to deal with the internal affairs of the FDC, then I’m not sure he will understand them so easily,” he stressed.

The Vice President’s Press Secretary made the remarks today in response to His Excellency’s comments. In it, Ssemujju said that in light of the World Bank’s decision to suspend loans to Uganda, the government should start with the president and state legislatures, cutting what he said was unnecessary spending through the resident commissioner (RDC) and presidential advisers.

Mr. Kilenda wondered whether lawmakers had a clear understanding of the president’s role and mandate and how the state capitol operates.

“Is he aware of the functional differences between the operation of mainstream government and the work of state legislatures? Does he know of the oversight role of state house staff who help the president do his job and that state house staff should scrutinize the number of civil servants in the country? State House’s The staff and ministers are the ears and eyes of the president and help him run the government well. Unless, respectfully. Ssemujju wants the president to run the country alone,” he said in a brief interview with this news site.

On the issue of RDC, Mr. Kirunda elaborated on this point. Ssemujju, who has served in Parliament for many years, is well aware that the functions of the RDC are recognized in the country’s constitution.

“First, did he try to introduce a private MP’s bill to dismantle this office? Did he understand the constitutional role and responsibilities of the RDC, or did he not believe that the constitution allowed him to be elected to Congress?” he wondered.

“Isn’t it the same constitution that created the office of MP while stipulating the functions of the office of the RDC? Unless otherwise stated, Honorable MP. Ssemujju says he is a MP at fault. Honorable Madam? Ssemujju knows The role of the Presidential Counselor and who do they report to? Who told Mr. Hong. Ssemujju Presidential Counselor reports directly to the President? For its information, the Presidential Counselor and the RDC report to the Minister of the Presidency who is their direct supervisor.”

On the other hand, Mr Kirunda called on lawmakers to refrain from endless attacks on the government, especially the president, and instead appreciate the stability that the NRM government has brought to the country, which has allowed him to enjoy privileges and make massive investments. A businessman and a politician.

“He should look back honestly on his first day before becoming a member of Parliament and see how much the current leadership arrangement has changed Uganda,” he told the news site.
