Lomita, California—— Family members and community leaders of a 13-year-old child who was attacked and beaten inside a Southern California McDonald’s restaurant are calling for justice after video of the incident has now gone viral.
Cassidy Jones told her mother that the woman seen in the video made eye contact with her as she walked out of the restroom inside Lomita’s last week. She said the woman seemed upset and said she was fighting with the children.
That’s when the teen said she was attacked for no apparent reason. In the video, the adult woman pulls Cassidy’s hair, knocks her to the ground, and hits her multiple times.
Angelina said: “My daughter is emotionally hurt. She can’t sleep at night. She has bruises… She doesn’t want to go to school because she’s tired of the kids and everyone asking her what’s going on and Make fun of her.” Gray, her mother.
Multiple people can be seen watching the attack in the video. Eventually, a man jumped out to help.
“This was not a fight, this was a beating.”
On Saturday, Cassidy’s mother, other family members and community members gathered in protest outside the McDonald’s where the beating occurred.
They are calling on the woman involved to surrender and for the McDonald’s manager to be charged after they did nothing to stop it.
“I want the person who brutally attacked my daughter to turn himself in. I know you’re watching, I know your family is watching… do the right thing and turn yourself in,” Gray said.
The teen’s mother also said she was upset that McDonald’s did not issue an apology.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department said it is investigating the incident. No one was arrested.
