VALLEY STREETS, LONG ISLAND (WABC) — A third person has been arrested on Long Island in connection with a shooting at an illegal party in Valley Stream.
Kenny Greene, 23, was arrested Friday on a charge of second-degree conspiracy.
Isaiah Gonzalez and Kyle Matthews, both 21, were arrested earlier this month.
Gonzalez and Matthews were both charged with murder and unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with the incident.
Police said they knew who they were looking for based on multiple surveillance videos.
The shooting, which occurred on Aug. 21 at 85 Ocean Ave., sent dozens of people running for their lives.
DeAndre Carter, a 20-year-old man from Brooklyn, was shot in the chest and died in the shooting, and three children were injured.
A 12-year-old boy standing in a doorway was shot in the upper left shoulder after a bullet entered his back.
Two other 17-year-old boys from El Monte were also attacked. One was hit in the back of the leg and the other was hit in the knee.
The shooting is believed to be gang-related, and police said Matthews, who has been arrested several times before, should have been jailed.
Nassau County Police said: “This man should be in jail so this senseless murder wouldn’t have happened and three other victims were shot because this bad guy is still on the street and that’s what we have to stop.” .” Commissioner Patrick Ryder after the shooting.
As of May 3, 2021, Gonzalez had an outstanding warrant from a Nassau County Judge for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.
