Lawsuit accuses Sweetgreen of hostile workplace

NEW YORK (WABC)—— Popular salad chain Sweetgreen has been accused of having a hostile workplace at several New York City locations.

In the lawsuit filed Thursday, 10 employees allege Sweetgreen and two general managers discriminated against, harassed and demeaned Black employees in particular.

The lawsuit alleges that Black employees were passed over for promotions and assigned “unwelcome” shifts.

The general managers involved are all Hispanic.

A spokesperson for Sweetgreen responded to the lawsuit, saying that Sweetgreen is “committed to diversity,” that they take the allegations seriously and do not tolerate harassment of any kind.
