Governor of Telangana confers Honorary Doctorate on Prof Ashutosh Sharma in 3rd convocation ceremony
The university has awarded prestigious degrees to its graduate class of 2023 in its third session.RD Graduation Ceremony on 2 September 2023 with Guest-of-Honour Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, President, Indian National Academy of Sciences; Dr. TR Paarivendhar, Founding President, SRM Institutions Group; Dr. P Sathyanarayanan, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Manoj K Arora, Vice-Chancellor, SRM University; other dignitaries; deans, staff and parents of graduates. A total of 883 graduates, including 13 PhD Scholars, 17 Gold Medalists, 6 Silver Medalists and 2 Bronze Medalists, conferred their degrees in a major ceremony held at the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium.
“In line with our goal of becoming a globally connected, nationally relevant and regionally transformative university, we have adopted a five-year strategic plan with five objectives – to achieve academic excellence, enhance research, innovation and entrepreneurship, and enhance the student experience , achieving financial sustainability and improving perception and visibility” pointed out Vice Chancellor Prof. Manoj K Arora In his welcome address and briefing on the institution’s annual report on the progress of the previous school year.

The University also awarded an Honorary Doctorate to Professor Ashutosh Sharma, Founder President Dr TR Paarivendhar and Honorable Guest of Honour, Honorable Governor, for his exemplary contribution to the field of science. “Successful and inclusive development will become a global challenge. As we continue to progress at an unprecedented rate, remember that new knowledge is not knowledge if it is not used for socio-economic benefit.” Shire Professor Ma said in his speech. He deeply appreciates how research is embedded in the structure of the university’s educational approach, ensuring research opportunities for our country’s young researchers.
The graduation ceremony ended successfully with all the graduates taking the oath, playing the national anthem and leaving.
