The government has approved the setting up of 100 new Sainik schools in partnership with NGOs, private schools and states to provide education to students across the country starting from grade six as per the new education policy.
Under this initiative, the Sainik Schools Association has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with 19 new Sainik schools across the country, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement. After evaluating applications seeking more such academic facilities, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh approved the setting up of 23 more new Sainik schools on a partnership model.

“This initiative will increase the number of new Sainik schools operating under the partnership model with the support of the Sainik Schools Association to 42, in addition to the existing 33 Sainik schools that are already operating under the previous model,” the Ministry of Defense said. said it also provides an opportunity for the private sector to work hand in hand with the government to achieve nation building by developing the youth of today into responsible citizens of tomorrow.
These new Sainik schools will function under the auspices of the Sainik Schools Association, besides being affiliated to their respective education boards. The Ministry of Defense informed that they will abide by the rules and regulations of the new Sainik School in the cooperative model prescribed by the association. Apart from the regular affiliated board classes, they will impart academic plus curriculum education to the students of Sainik School model.
