The Red Hot Chili Peppers, BTS’ Ms. Lauryn Hill, Anitta and Jung Kook will perform at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival, with the entire event broadcast to the world.
Benefit concert in New York City’s Central Park to be broadcast live right here, Saturday, September 23, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET. Highlights will also air on ABC.
The Global Citizen Festival offers free event tickets to fans in exchange for taking action for social change on the organization’s app and website. Global Citizen advocates urge governments to take action to address extreme poverty and the systemic problems that prevent millions of people from escaping poverty.
The festival marks the first time record-breaking K-pop star Jung Kook has performed live without BTS. This summer, his debut solo single “Seven” hit No. 1 in the U.S. and around the world.
Other performers include Conan Gray, D-Nice, Sofia Carson and Stray Kids.
Speakers ranging from scientist Bill Nye to rapper Common, TV host Padma Lakshmi to basketball star Carmelo Anthony and a host of advocates from around the world will also be on hand to encourage viewers to take more action.
