New York Central Islip (WABC) — A Suffolk County teacher was arraigned Wednesday on suspicion of raping a minor.
William Sperl, 60, was arrested shortly after noon on Tuesday on suspicion of having sex with a 16-year-old student in 2020.
Spurr lives in Deer Park and is engaged.
He was arrested at the Board of East Suffolk Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) in Bellport, where he was an audio production teacher at the Riverhead campus.
Spurr was charged with four counts of third-degree rape and seven counts of third-degree sex crimes.
No further information has been released at this time.
