State-owned CIL reported on Monday that coal output rose 12.6% year-on-year last month to 51.4 million tonnes.
Coal India Ltd (CIL) said in a BSE filing that the PSU produced 45.7 tonnes of coal in the same period last year.

The company added that production in the April-September period also increased by 11.3% to 332.9 tons, compared with 299 tons in the same period last year.
CIL’s procurement volume increased by 12.6% to 55.1 tonnes in September as compared to 48.9 tonnes in the same period last fiscal year.

Maharatna’s purchases also increased by 8.6% between April and September to 360.7 tons, compared with 332 tons in the same period last year.
Coal emissions are the amount of dry fuel supplied from the coal pit mouth.
Coal India’s coal production accounts for more than 80% of domestic coal production.
