The Pebble Beach Contest of Elegance presented by Porsche is looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to help with a variety of tasks during the week leading up to the event and during the event weekend. As part of the Concours team, volunteers will receive several benefits including one (one) general admission ticket for Sunday, September 17th, a Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance limited edition golf polo t-shirt and a ( 1) A meal coupon, valid until September 17th, Sunday. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to see rare and elegant cars and motorcycles while being an integral part of this extraordinary community event that supports the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation and the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation.

Volunteers must commit to a minimum 4-hour shift, depending on position and assigned dates. There are a range of job opportunities here, including parking assistants, registration, class moderators, people’s choice awards, catering assignments and more. However, being a car enthusiast is not a prerequisite to enjoy this activity. For those seeking hands-on knowledge of golf course operations, spend 4-6 hours at Playground 18 and see what’s happening on the course. High school students who need volunteer hours for the “23/”24 school year can also volunteer. Those looking to engage in events can easily spend some time volunteering at the Concours d’Elegance and learn how large-scale events work from the inside out.
Proceeds from the Concours d’Elegance donated by Porsche will benefit two hospitals: the Sunnybrook Foundation and the Owen Sound Hospital. Funds raised will help build the new home of Sunnybrook’s Gary Hurwitz Center for Brain Science, the only facility in Canada treating the three most common brain disorders — dementia, stroke, and mood and anxiety disorders — while Owen Sound Regional Hospital will use the funds generated to support the purchase of new MRI machines.

What are Concours d’Elegance? Concours d’Elegance comes from French, meaning elegant competition, and its historical story can be traced back to the French society in the 17th century. The event started as a parade of horse-drawn carriages in the parks of Paris, France, and has since evolved into a display of antique and classic cars for competitions and celebrations. Presented by Porsche, the 2023 Cobble Beach Elegance Competition will be held on the 18th fairway at the Cobble Beach Golf Resort and Community, overlooking the beautiful waters of Georgian Bay.
