Josh Seiter claims he was a ‘victim’ after ex-girlfriend RuPaul’s Drag Race Star Monica Beverly Shields has accused him of faking her own death for influence.former bachelorette The contestant claims his Instagram was hacked earlier this week after a false statement announcing his death was posted on his page. He insisted he had other, more important things to do than correct the deception.
It took Seth a full 18 hours to assure his followers that he was “alive and all is well” after the false announcement. In a new interview with TMZ, he explains why he didn’t clarify everything sooner.
“I’m not famous. I’m not famous — at least in my opinion,” he told the outlet. “I didn’t have a team that was able to make a statement or know how to do something like that. I was at home, I couldn’t log into my account, I was working my ass off, and I was dealing with 1,000 things — people messaged me, people called me.”
He added: “My first priority is to log back into my Instagram account, but I don’t know when that will happen. But making it my first priority and then dealing with the stress of it all is overwhelming. “
The model then revealed that he was “estranged” from his family — which is probably why most of TMZ’s calls to them were either hung up on or “no comment”. Given the current chaos, Setter reiterated that he “will not apologize for this.”
“I know there will be haters and critics who won’t like the way I’ve handled it,” he said. “I’m sorry I’m not perfect. I figured there was something I could do besides being on Instagram to prove I’m alive, but I don’t have that experience, but I tried my best.”
He continued: “I’m sorry for everyone who was hurt by this man. I was a victim and so were they. Sadly, the number of mourners keeps growing – but it cannot be blamed on me. I am a victim too .”
Seth’s death was first questioned by Monica – whom Seth had briefly dated earlier this month.when speaking Entertainment Weekly, She said there was “absolutely no way” his account had been hacked, and then called him a “perverted bastard” and he could have demanded that she release a statement confirming he was still alive.
“He didn’t do anything but sit back and let everyone freak out and go through something. It’s fucking insane,” she said, before adding, “He looked at it and knew it was out of control.” I’m here crying, I’m not sleeping, I’m crying every two minutes thinking this is happening and this guy is doing this shit all the time.”
Seth later denied Monica’s “absurd allegations” in an email to the outlet.
“As a mental health advocate, the issue of suicide is very sensitive to me,” he wrote. “It is disgusting to suggest that I orchestrate a death post around this issue. I have devoted the last 8 years of my life to blogging and raising awareness about mental health and will continue to do so. Regardless of my criticism What do you say?”
