Glen Oaks, Queens (WABC) — One person was killed and several others were injured, including two children, after a car lost control and rammed into pedestrians in Queens on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of 260 Street and 73 Avenue
Police said the driver of a black SUV was traveling on 73rd Avenue when the driver lost control and slammed into a white vehicle in which a 67-year-old man was unloading groceries from the trunk.
The victim, identified as Flower Park resident Sam Amorese, was trapped between cars and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other people were injured, including a 65-year-old mother and her two children, a 5-year-old girl and 1-year-old boy. The children were taken to Cohen Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
The mother suffered leg injuries and was taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in a serious but stable condition.
Neighbors say drivers have been speeding on these residential streets, even late at night.
The 39-year-old driver remained at the scene.
So far, no charges have been filed against the driver.
Investigation is ongoing.
