FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (WABC) — Police are investigating the horrific deaths of a woman and a 14-year-old girl found in a Brooklyn apartment.
Officials say the two deaths are being investigated as part of a brutal domestic dispute.
Police arrived at the New York Avenue apartment on Monday and found a 37-year-old woman with stab wounds to her face.
The teenage girl was lying next to the woman in the living room, authorities said. The teen appeared to have suffered head trauma.
A dead dog was also found with a plastic bag over its head, but officials said they do not believe the pet suffocated.
Authorities said no suspects are currently being sought and detectives are awaiting a forensic autopsy. The victim was believed to have been dead for several days when he was found, officials said.
Police have been called to the apartment several times over the past few weeks. They discovered the women in what they described as a “gory” scene during a health check.
